Valle de Guadalupe Wine Wins Concours Mondial Bruxelles

A white wine from Valle de Guadalupe, Cenzontle (2019) from Finca el Empecinado, won the highest score at the Concours Mondial Bruxelles, one of the most prestigious global wine competitions. The wine competition was held at the end of May in Croatia. Cenzontle won both best white wine and had the highest score overall of all wines, giving it the title of best in the world. Finca el Empecinado is the label of winemaker Jesus Rivera who is also the winemaker for El Cielo (he made the wine at the El Cielo facilities).

Chocolate Clam Festival in Loreto

Loreto will have its chocolate clam festival this Saturday, June 3rd at 6pm featuring plenty of food, sangria, and live music. The event start at 6pm and tickets are $700 pesos per person.

Viñedos en Flor in Valle de Guadalupe

The Viñedos en Flor event will take place in Valle de Guadalupe on Saturday, June 10th. The family-friendly event will feature wine from more than 80 wineries, as well as food from regional chefs and restaurants. There will be activities throughout the day for kids. Malva’s 10 Year Celebration

Beloved restaurant Malva in Valle de Guadalupe will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary. Chef Roberto Alcocer (who can be found most of the time these days at his superb Michelin-recommended restaurant Valle in Oceanside) will be joined by a number of special guest chefs presenting a six-course meal paired with wine. Winemaking Courses with Laura Zamora

Winemaker Laura Zamora (of Santo Tomás) will be teaching a series of basic winemaking courses. The classes will take place at her bed & breakfast and restaurant Zarcillo, which is also a great place to eat and stay if visiting the Antigua Ruta del Vino south of Ensenada.
