Santa Rosalía Now a Pueblo Mágico

Mexico has named Santa Rosalía a new Pueblo Mágico, or Magic Town. Mexico’s Pueblo Mágico program was started in 2001 as a way to help promote towns around the country that offer tourists special experiences because of their natural beauty, cultural richness, traditions, folklore, historical relevance, cuisine, art crafts, and great hospitality. The program helps towns get funding to make infrastructure and amenity improvements to help attract a growing number of tourists. The other Pueblos Mágicos on the peninsula are Tecate, Todos Santos, and Loreto.

X-ray Machines at Mexicali East Northbound Border Prohibit Oversized Vehicles

There are new vehicle x-ray machines that have been installed at the Mexicali East northbound border crossing that have are short and narrow and are not large enough for RVs or oversized vehicles. The x-ray machines are installed in the regular and SENTRI lanes. RVs, motorhomes, large trucks, and other oversized vehicles should stay in the far right lane as that is currently the only lane without the x-ray machine.
