Fishing License and FMM Prices

The Mexican government raised the price of fishing licenses for 2023. The price to get them through Discover Baja will remain the same. We are still waiting to hear about the policy and price changes for FMMs and will let members know when we can issue prepaid FMMs again.

Provino Announces 2023 Fiestas de la Vendimia Dates

Provino (the Baja California wine association) has announced the dates for their 2023 events, including the Valle de Guadalupe Fiestas de la Vendimia wine harvest festival. Dates are as follows:

-Festival de la Conchas y el Vino Nuevo: April 22-23

-Festival del los Viñedos en Flor: June 9-10

-Fiestas de la Vendimia: July 29-August 20 (Salon de Vino: July 29, Muestra del Vino: August 4, Concurso de Paellas: August 20)

-Festival del Vino sin Fronteras: October 14


PedWest Northbound Reopening With Limited
Hours

On January 9th, San Ysidro pedestrian border crossing PedWest reopened for northbound crossing only and with limited hours. The crossing is open from 6am to 2pm daily.


Discover Baja Office Open By Appointment

A reminder that the Discover Baja is available by phone/email Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The office is open by appointment. Please call 800-727-2252 to make an appointment.

CBX Upgrades

A number of improvements have been made at Cross Border Xpress (CBX) to make traveling even easier. There are now over 10,000 parking spots as well as valet parking and reserved parking.  The new processing facility now has double the amount of e-gates, more processing stations, more airline counters, and more security checkpoints.

Rancho Las Cruces Biodiversity Weekend

The iconic Rancho Las Cruces will be holding a Baja biodiversity weekend Jan. 19-21 in conjunction with the San Diego Natural History Museum. Guests at the ranch will enjoy days hiking and talking natural history and evening presentations from Museum President and CEO, Judy Gradwohl as well as Curator of Botany, Jon Rebman, Curator of Herpetology Brad Hollingsworth, and Mammalogist Scott Tremor. Property Taxes

If you own property in Baja, this is your reminder to pay your property taxes. Most municipalities offer a discount for paying early.
