OTAY MESA BORDER CROSSING TO BOULEVARD 2000

From the Otay Mesa border crossing, continue south approximately one mile on Blvd Garita de Otay which becomes Los Aztecas to Boulevard Industrial. At Boulevard Industrial, turn left (east) and continue on this road (Mex 2D/ Blvd Alberto Limon
Padilla) for approximately four miles until you come to the junction with the road that will take you to the toll road to Tecate and also to Boulevard 2000 to Rosarito and Ensenada. Here you turn right. Once you are on that road (Juan Garcia, becoming Corridor 2000), follow it for approximately 25 miles until it ends at a T-intersection with the Tijuana-Ensenada freeroad, just south of Rosarito Beach.

If you are continuing to Ensenada, turn left and follow this road south until you can access the toll-road (Mexico 1) just north of Puerto Nuevo. Continue south, and there will be only one tollbooth to go through just before reaching Ensenada. If you are continuing to Rosarito Beach, turn right and continue of this road for approximately two miles.

NORTHBOUND

If you prefer to bypass Tijuana to get to the Otay Mesa border crossing, you might want to give the Corredor 2000 a try. It’s a little bit longer in distance to get to Otay, but you avoid TJ city traffic. The four-lane freeway to the Otay crossing can be accessed from the free road just north of Baja Studios at the Popotla traffic signal or there is an exit from the toll road (you will have to pay the toll for the toll road as you exit.) The Corredor is about a 30 mile drive. When you get near the end, you will see a sign and off ramp to Ciudad Industrial and US border crossing—don’t head to Tecate. Stay in the right lane, turn right where it says Garita Otay (warning—where you turn right, stay in the right lane. The left lane dead ends and you will have to merge). Once you are on the US side, the 905 will take you to the 805 and 5 freeways in about 10 or 15 minutes.
