The Baja 1000 will be November 16-20. The course will be a loop race this year, beginning and ending in Ensenada. If you are planning on staying or traveling between Ensenada and El Rosario between now and the race, make sure you have reservations in advance. Due to pre racing and other events, many hotels are sold out for dates before the actual race as well. More information.

 

SimplePay Launches for Automatic Bill Pay in Mexico

Temporary Vehicle Permits for Mainland Mexico

A reminder that while temporary vehicle import permits are not required for Baja, they are mandatory for travel in Mainland Mexico (the western part of Sonora where Puerto Peñasco is located is exempt). Permits must be obtained before entering mainland Mexico, either at the border or at the ferry terminal in Pichilingue (La Paz). If you are caught in mainland Mexico without a vehicle importation permit, your car can be confiscated and impounded permanently. Read More.

 

Boats with Old Uncanceled TIPs

If you live in/around the Phoenix area and have a boat with a TIP from a previous owner that needs to be canceled, Customs authorities will be visiting the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix on November 10-11 exclusively to cancel TIPs. Make sure you have the original vessel documentation/registration and your passport in hand to prove current ownership.
